WebFeb 5, 2024 · I've had good luck with Permatex for oil seals on differential covers, intake manifolds, oil pans, trans pans, etc. so decided to use that instead of the OEM gasket. Upon removal, the OEM gasket appeared fine, all the bolts were snug, and the face of the magneto housing and block were all smooth with no burrs, nicks, etc. WebMar 14, 2024 · There has to be some type of slinger that keeps oil out of the distributor/mag drive and a drain back to the crankcase.
